DESCRIPTION:Please join us at the at the Randall Museum in San Francisco on February 22 for a field report brought to us by Arthur Yin. Arthur will be presenting Pinguicula of Oaxaca and Beyond at the Randall Museum in San Francisco on 2/22. Arthur is a long time member of BACPS and served as the club’s treasurer\, where he also had the opportunity to help organize International Carnivorous Plant Society (ICPS) Conference in 2018. \n\nArthur has traveled the world looking at CP habitats for most genera and his first Pinguicula encounter was locating an unknown isolated population of P. macroceras 100 km from any known California sites.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us at the lovely and iconic Shelldance Gardens in Pacifica on Saturday\, December 14\, from 12 – 4:00pm. Surrounded by hundreds of different tropical plant species\, such as orchids\, bromeliads\, and aroids\, let’s get together in our ugliest holiday sweaters (or your best sweater\, and only if you want) and celebrate the end of the year with a potluck\, plants\, and prizes. \n\nGuests are encouraged (but not required!) to your favorite holiday dish or your specialty to share!\nMembers are welcome to bring plants to sell and trade!\nAs always we’ll have a raffle and BACPS swag for sale! Winter is fast approaching and so is gemmae season with Australia’s pygmy sundews – members are also encouraged to bring gemmae to swap!\nWe’ll also vote for the 2025 board.

We’re serving up carnivorous plants\, raffle prizes\, a dessert potluck\, and Gilman Brewery’s fine drinks and pizzas.\n\n  \n\nThis meeting will focus on YOU\, the grower\, and your plants!\n\n  \n\nWe’re hosting discussion groups by genus\, so members and non-members alike can come together and talk and share about their favorite types of carnivorous plants\, cultivation tips\, and general plant excitement!\n\n  \n\nWHAT ABOUT THE RAFFLE?!\nJust getting into growing plants? Need the right things to get started? Well\, this meeting’s raffle is where to be! It will focus on cultivation supplies.\n\n  \n\n \nAre you a seasoned grower with a bunch of spare stuff lying around?\nIf you have any extra grow lights\, pots\, substrate/media\, etc\, please consider donating to the raffle! Plants\, too\, of course!\n\n  \n\nAND PIE???\nWe really meant dessert potluck but we didn’t wanna break a good alliteration  Our winter potluck is back – we’d love it if you brought your favorite desserts to share.\nThis year’s potluck will be desserts only\, as we hope attendees will support our gracious host\, Gilman Brewery\, by chowing down on their delicious pizzas \n\n  \n\nELECTIONS\nWe are also holding our annual board elections at this meeting. While all current board members are running for re-election\, any member is welcome to put their hat in the ring to be considered for the existing board positions. DESCRIPTION:BACPS Plant Talks: Trekking for Nepenthes in Borneo and Palawan with Gianne Souza\n\nJoin the Bay Area Carnivorous Plant Society (BACPS) for a dose of adventure and Nepenthes on Saturday September 16 at the Randall Museum. (And yes\, Gianne and their crew did find a few other carnivorous plants as well!) \nGianne Souza will share photos and tales of adventure from their recent trip to the Borneo Rainforest and Palawan Island in search of Nepenthes. This Redfern Adventures expedition was led by naturalist Stewart McPherson and made possible with local guides Tham Yau Kong in Malaysia and Jehson Cervancia in the Philippines. \nGianne’s talk begins at 2pm\, and afterwards they will have several Nepenthes species and hybrids for sale.
