🍂 Hi, hello, and happy fall from the
Bay Area Carnivorous Plant Society!Â
Join the Bay Area Carnivorous Plant Society on Saturday, October 10 for an afternoon of plants, photography, and community at the Randall Museum. We’re welcoming renowned orchid photographer Ron Parsons, who will be presenting “Where the Wild Things Were”, a collection of stunning carnivorous plant photography captured during his travels.
 
Ron has been growing orchids for over 50 years, with a particular fondness for species orchids. He loves taking photographs of his orchids and flowers of all sorts of plants, and also has a small collection of succulents (mostly Haworthia), ball cacti, insectivorous plants, and some bromeliads and gesneriads.
Ron’s photography collection features over 130,000 digital images (most of which are orchids) and a slide library of over 100,000 botanical images. He’s given more than 500 talks on various botanical topics and has more than 7,000 published photos.
Ron’s botanical expertise and photography are featured in five published books with co-author Mary E. Gerritsen:

As always, this event is free and open to the public. BACPS members are encouraged to bring plants to sell, trade, and show off. We also will have a raffle, so please bring plants and items to donate if you can! Selling table space is limited, please email us at contact@bacps.org to reserve a spot.
